We talked about what it means to let peace be your defense, to stand calm when the battle finds you, in the first episode. Today I want to talk about something simple, and yet for many of us, it's the hardest thing in the world: faith. Not the poetic, flowery kind, but the literal kind.

This is the transcript for Episode 2.

Literal faith is what you hold when logic runs out. It's what you cling to when everything looks impossible, when you've done all you can and all that's left is trust. I used to think faith meant optimism, believing that everything would eventually work out, but that's not quite it. Faith isn't pretending things are fine. It's knowing that even when they're not, God is still here.

Literal faith sounds like this, "God, I don't understand this, but I know you do. I can't see the path, but I trust you're guiding me". Or, "I feel weak, but you promised to be my strength." That's not passive. That's power. Because when you surrender your understanding, you make room for God's wisdom.

For mothers especially, this kind of faith can feel unnatural. We're wired to fix, to plan, to make things better. But some seasons are too big for control. In those seasons, literal faith becomes a gift. Not because it makes things easier, but because it keeps your heart soft when everything else tries to harden it.

If you're in a season where you can't see the way forward, maybe with your child, your co-parents, or your own healing, remember, you don't need to have the whole picture. You just need to hold the thread. The thread that says, "God, I trust you". One day, you'll look back and realize that thread was stronger than you thought. It didn't just hold you together. It led you through.

Faith doesn't have to feel big to be real. It just has to be sincere. Sometimes the smallest prayers, whispered through tears, are the ones heaven hears the loudest. So let peace defend you. Let faith sustain you. And remember, you don't walk through this battle alone.

This is Light in the Battle. May peace guard your heart. May grace guide your steps. And may you always find light even in the hardest places.
